Haxall ExpansionMulti-Family Expansion
We work with a lot of architects. Adding 12 apartment units on top of a historic building when an active architecture firm is occupying the ground floor provided a unique sort of challenge. The client had an idea of what they desired, but we took on the addition as a design-assist project. Complicating our build was the fact that the existing structure was fully surrounded by power lines, including a bulk feeder that supplied electricity to most of Church Hill and the surrounding neighborhood. We were able to shut down the surrounding streets for several consecutive weekends and utilized 9 crane mobilizations to supply the build and avoid disrupting the downstairs tenant. Even with these challenges, the client was able to accept new tenants to the completed structure on time, and we came in under budget, returning their unused funds.
